Glossary of Gnostic, Esoteric & Consciousness Terms

A false imitation of genuine spiritual life, recognition or freedom. In texts such as Pistis Sophia it may function as a binding garment of attachments and lower actions.

Direct knowing or recognition. In Gnostic traditions, gnosis is not merely information but a form of insight that changes the knower.

Continuation of conditioned existence beyond one lifetime. Some traditions frame it as a soul returning, others as causal patterns continuing.

An afterlife image associated with near-death experience and soul-trap discussions. Interpretations range from spiritual passage to contested lure.

The shaping of attention, desire, visibility, behaviour and belief through automated systems.
